What differentiates Fortinet Fortigate NGFW from other similar products?

‎The interface is intuitive, making firewall configuration and monitoring straightforward for daily network management. Unlike many other firewalls, FortiGate integrates seamlessly with the broader Fortinet ecosystem, providing unified management, threat intelligence, and security across both on-premises and cloud environments.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

‎I appreciate the real-time threat intelligence that keeps my systems protected constantly. FortiGate’s intrusion prevention system helps me detect attacks before they impact our network. The application control feature allows me to manage which apps can access our network efficiently. I like how web filtering ensures safe browsing and reduces exposure to malicious sites.

What do you dislike most about this product?

‎Certain integrations with third-party security tools require additional configuration, slowing down deployment and adding extra workload.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

It is great for enterprises managing multiple sites with complex network structures. One can also reduce configuration errors by utilizing predefined policy templates.

What differentiates Fortinet Fortigate NGFW from other similar products?

Integrates quite well with our cloud and on-premises environments. I have been able to understand how our applications use network resources with the help of the real-time bandwidth monitoring. The ease of declaring application-layer rules that also align perfectly with our microservices has been achieved with just by the help of this platform.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Application control would be one of my favorites as it lets us declare rules per application. Moreover, it has been so easy to impose regular security policies across our dev, staging, and production networks. The way it keeps us consistently updated makes me confident that we are always gonna be protected against any risk.

What do you dislike most about this product?

It sometimes lags while handling large configuration menus in the web console. Besides this, the platform does provide us with regular updates, but sometimes the updates require manual intervention for them to be completed.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you are seeking to secure your application environments and utilize APIs for automation purposes, then you should definitely adopt this platform.

Its less complex and good for small business,cost efficient.

Its user friendly on graphical user interface.And easy for understanding.

What do you dislike most about this product?

Typical complex command line.No third party integration tool.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

To have an automated report and policy validation with some of the AI tools so that which policy is not been in use can be identified and it could help in audit.
