MDR platform designed for enterprise-grade SOC

Likeliness to Recommend

9 /10

What differentiates Pillr Platform from other similar products?

Pillr is a cloud-based MDR platform that can be used by several tenants and was made with MSPs in mind. Unlike standard EDR tools, it offers what i will term as SOC-as-a-Service (SOCaaS) that tackles gaps other solutions often miss, without locking you into a single solution. It plays nice with hundreds of other third-party security tools and works alongside existing EDR setups to cut through noise and zero in on real threats. Its open approach makes it a refreshing alternative to rigid, single-vendor systems

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

What really clicks for me is the human factor. Pillr provides 24/7 expert monitoring, reducing false alerts and unnecessary tickets. It combines automated alerting with advice and remediation guidance from threat hunters and analysts around the clock. This lets teams focus on actual dangers instead of sifting through endless noise.

What do you dislike most about this product?

With the acquisition of Pillr, there is a lot of speculation about what OpenText will do with Pillr. As a dedicated MDR platform, it can be daunting for smaller MSPs without dedicated security to feel capable of using Pillr. The multi-tenant nature of Pillr is beneficial for MSPs, but it may feel complicated for some teams looking for a more simplified solution.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Pillr is an excellent option for MSPs looking for a feature-rich MDR with many different integrations. It complies with a number of industry frameworks such as NIST and will therefore serve organizations that care about compliance as well. Of course, make sure that your team has the experience to utilize the SOC-as-a-Service and threat hunting functionality, and keep an eye on OpenText's integration and how it will evolve the platform.

Reliable Security with 24/7 Expert Support

Likeliness to Recommend

10 /10

What differentiates Pillr Platform from other similar products?

Pillr stands out because it brings together security tools and expert support in one platform. It helps spot and respond to threats quickly, runs around the clock, and works smoothly with systems a company already uses. What makes it different is that you’re not left to figure things out alone there’s always a team backing you up.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

What I find most valuable about Pillr is the balance between technology and human support. Many platforms just flood you with alerts, but Pillr gives you a team that actively monitors and responds 24/7. That extra layer of human oversight makes it feel more reliable and less overwhelming, because you know someone’s actually there to help, not just software running in the background.

What do you dislike most about this product?

What I dislike most about this product is that its strong external support can sometimes reduce the hands-on involvement of in-house teams, which may limit opportunities for them to practice and grow their own skills.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

I’d recommend looking at Pillr if you want both strong security tools and the added benefit of expert support around the clock. It’s a good fit for teams that need reliable coverage without managing everything on their own. Just make sure to balance it with opportunities for your internal team to stay involved, so they continue building their skills while Pillr handles the heavy lifting.
