What differentiates Acuity PPM from other similar products?

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

The easy to use interface drives adoption. The functionality of the tool provides value without being overly complex.

What do you dislike most about this product?

The project management Schedule function needs a bit of maturity still, it is close, but a few things can be improved to deliver better results.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Figure out what level of sophistication your organization really needs to drive portfolio and basic project management practices. Overly complex tools will not drive adoption and may risk not delivering the value you are seeking.

What differentiates Acuity PPM from other similar products?

Acuity PPM is incredibly straightforward in it's approach to managing complex project portfolios and resource management. It has a clean and easy to understand UI, it is feature rich and constantly evolving. The vendor is very customer orientated and actually listens to problems, questions and enhancements that users may have. It has transformed our portfolio and project management into an efficient and well oiled machine. The level of detail is suitable for all users, from Project Managers to Executives/Directors. Acuity PPM has improved our ways of working tremendously.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

We love the simplicity of getting to the right data at the right time without having to go through complicated workflows or multiple screens. What you need is at your fingertips when you need it and everything is in one place. There are regular (near monthly) feature enhancements and bug fixes which are well documented and communicated. The vendor runs half-yearly customer focus groups where they listen to how customers use the product and what enhancements are important to them. Most of what's been discussed ends up on their development roadmap and makes it into production within a few months. Very impressive!

What do you dislike most about this product?

I think there is a small gap in the financials section of the software. For our purposes the level of detail which can be entered into the system for cost and benefit tracking purposes is not granular enough. This is only a small dissatisfaction as all the basics are covered adecquately. The other slight dislike is the inability to customise the layout of PDF status reports. The layout is fixed and can't be changed by the enduser. Disclaimer: the status report itself is fully customisable in the platform, it's just when you export it as a PDF that the format is fixed.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

Just do it! If you are in the market for a feature rich Project Portfolio Management platform which is fully scaleable and incredibly easy to use then look no further. Do not expect the platform to function as a Project Management tool as that is not the core functionality (having said that, you are able to create a feature rich project plan in Acuity PPM but it's not on a par with MS Project for example). From a PMO perspective, Acuity PPM will make your life infinitely easier and you'll be able to present facts with confidence, safe in the knowledge that you always have access to the latest information all in one place. You'll love it!

What differentiates Acuity PPM from other similar products?

What I found to be differentiating is that it has its own unique features. But it also needs a lot of improvement for eg. areas of integration and collaboration, interface and UI. But if you don't need in depth customization then this works just fine. It does give you overall insight. It is very easy to use, but even with training you can still get overwhelmed with too many features. Besides the sales team is polite and knowledgable. I feel customization can be improved. Also it lags a bit but it isn't noticeable once you get hang of it. There are some good prioritization things but lack in filters. Also can't get personalized notifications.

What is your favorite aspect of this product?

Their fraud and risk analysis along with what-if analysis is really good. You can also forecast resource demand with it which is helpful. I liked the way it is user friendly but still need tips and guides for advanced features. Also I can generate reports and status quickly because it gives real time updates. The goal prioritization feature is also very nice.

What do you dislike most about this product?

There are integration challenges which leads to workflow efficiencies. Like if you many departments and CRMs, here there is lack of integration. And the lag is very much visible when you use mobile interface. The features are less too. Also, customization needs lost of improvement. It will give you satisfactory simplistic overview and you can see all at once, but deeper analysis is still not introduced.

What recommendations would you give to someone considering this product?

If you don't need deep insights and customization then this works good. Also you might need to seek integration alternatives, Also the ui can be bit frustrating with lags, bugs and too many clicks for a simple thing.
