UNIVERGE BLUE Continues Global Rollout
On July 14, 2021, NEC and Intermedia briefed Info-Tech about their ongoing partnership and continuing global rollout of UNIVERGE BLUE. Since the release of their UNIVERGE BLUE product line in July 2020, NEC and Intermedia have sought to build out a unique unified communications and collaboration platform, with both software and hardware available to customers.
Customers choosing UNIVERGE BLUE can gain access to a full phone system and voice functionality, omnichannel contact center capabilities, videoconferencing, team chat and SMS, and file collaboration. UNIVERGE BLUE also integrates with a wide range of market-leading software, including Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Salesforce, Zendesk, Oracle NetSuite, SugarCRM, ServiceNow, and Google Workspace.
UNIVERGE BLUE continues to be rolled out globally, with a strong presence in North America and recently Australia, UK, Italy, Netherlands, and Germany. Rollouts for Japan, LATAM, and other EMEA countries are planned for late 2021 into 2022.
Within UNIVERGE BLUE’s application window, users can readily access:
- Phone with caller ID, hold, park, flip, transfer, and conference
- Group chat
- Videoconferencing, screensharing, and recording
- File sharing and collaboration

Our Take
As team collaboration, communications, and contact center capabilities increasingly merge in vendors’ product offerings, NEC and Intermedia are one of the few partnerships that already offer an all-in-one package with UNIVERGE BLUE. For NEC’s large customer base, UNIVERGE BLUE is an excellent opportunity to migrate to cloud-based services without having to contend with multi-vendor management.
UNIVERGE BLUE customers will also benefit from rapid innovations. NEC and Intermedia are in development to bridge the gap between on-premises and pure cloud solutions, making it easier for customers to benefit from cloud services at their own pace. This, coupled with a rapid global growth approach, reinforces UNIVERGE BLUE as a viable and visionary product.
